Outside 53 Gordon Square

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 12:04, Wednesday 5 August 2026

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9901741.

There are multiple pavement tiles loose on this road which creates trip hazards, damp and water ingress into my workplace property, property damage and electricity shorting. The damage is prominent when it rains and is causing a lot of damage to the property as well as equipment inside. I suspect the damp proof membrane has failed or the pavement tiles have been compromised. Please address this issue ASAP.

Updates

  • Thank you for your enquiry having visited site the paving meets all intervention levels
unfortunately the council does not have to provide a waterproof surface to the public highway
and does not accept responsibility for any water ingress into the sub struture of any property
it is the owners responsibility to ensure that the vault is adequately waterproofed and the structural integrity is maintained at all times in order that the structure can support the public highway
section 180 of the 1980 highways act requires all vaults arches or cellars beneath the public highway are kept in a good state of repair by the owner of the property to which it belongs

State changed to: No further action
