Tree being flat 3 marlston munster square

Reported via desktop in the Other tree issue category anonymously at 11:25, Monday 6 April 2026

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9245182.

I’m writing to ask for some help regarding the trees at the back of my property.

Over time they have become more of a concern for us, especially because branches often fall from them. As a family with four children who love being outdoors and spending time in the garden, this is something we are finding increasingly worrying. It does not feel particularly safe, and I am concerned that someone could end up getting hurt if it is not looked at.

The trees are also now overhanging the property, which seems to be getting worse.

Recently, tree surgeons were working at number 7 removing a tree in the back garden, and during that visit it was mentioned that there is some dead wood in one of the trees in question that would need attention. Given the falling branches, that added to my concern.

I have also recently learned that these are London plane trees, and I understand they can cause respiratory and eye irritation because of the fine hairs they release. This may explain why my children seem to have extra coughing and irritation during the spring and summer months.

I have noticed that some trees in the surrounding area have already been cut back much more heavily, to the point where there are very few leaves or small branches growing back and am wondering if this is for the same reasons as my own . For example:

- Munster Square, outside the building called Swallowfield – 1 tree - Munster Square, in front of the NCP car park – 1 tree - Prince of Wales Passage – 4 trees

I am just hoping the council can inspect these trees and see whether they need maintenance or cutting back for safety reasons.

I would really appreciate your help with this.

Many thanks in advanced
