The trees in the garden are encroaching on the southern aspect of Reachview Close and we have just discovered some foundation concerns which could be the result of the size and density of the trees in the garden.

Dear Green Spaces / Trees Team,
I am writing to formally request Camden Council’s permission and written consent for an appropriately qualified independent arborist, appointed by us, to carry out crown reduction works to one or more trees located on council‑owned land at Baynes Street Canalside Garden, London NW1
The proposed works are intended to support responsible tree management and risk mitigation, taking into account the tree’s size, canopy spread, and proximity to pedestrian routes and adjoining boundaries within a well‑used communal area. This request is not made for amenity reasons such as light loss, leaf fall, or seasonal debris.
Should consent be granted, we confirm that:
All works would be carried out by a professionally qualified and insured arborist; Works would be undertaken strictly in accordance with BS3998:2010 – Tree Work – Recommendations; No works would commence without explicit written approval from Camden Council; All necessary risk assessments, method statements, and insurance documentation would be provided in advance for review; Works would be limited to the scope approved by the Council and scheduled at a time agreed with the relevant team. We would be grateful if you could advise:
Whether Camden Council would consider granting permission for works to be undertaken by a third‑party arborist on this site; Any formal application process, conditions, or documentation required to support such a request; and Whether the trees in question are subject to any additional constraints, inspections, or planned works within the Council’s existing maintenance programme. Please treat this email as a formal request for consent. No preparatory or physical works will take place unless and until written authorisation is received.
