Dear Council,
This is the 4th message I have had to leave here to ask for an update on the issue with the street lights around the area of the new Agar Grove bridge. The council keeps dismissing my concerns about the lack of working street lights in our area following the completion of the new bridge works by BAM after about 3 months now. We need to know what the plan is to re-instate proper street lights in our neighbourhood.
The street lights are still not working and this is now a hazard as the days are growing shorter and feels dangerous to walk back home in the dark after work. The metal fences left over by BAM with lights affixed on them as a temporary measure are not a solution! BAM has let us know that the delay is because of the council not installing the street light arms and lanterns. I can currently see that these are indeed still not installed yet.
Please let us know specifically by when will you take action on this so that we can have proper street lights again and the metal fences left by BAM removed. Please provide us with a timeframe and brief plan. A 3 month delay on this is excessive and with days growing smaller the lack of proper street lights is potentially hazardous as you understand.
Thank you.

The street lighting team has attended, and this has now been raised and referred with our term contractor.

Hi Council,
The Contractors attended the site and installed the arms and lanterns on three poles as far as I can tell. Also UKPN did some work and now some of the street lighting has been re-instated. However, not all street lights work at the moment!
Specifically, there are two poles that currently still do not have arms or lanterns on them. One of them is at the junction between St Augustine's road and Murray street, and one on Agar grove at the bridge location. These need to be fitted with arms and lanterns and complete the work that has been left unfinished please.
Can you please confirm by when you plan to complete all works required to fully-reinstate street lights in the area and ask BAM to remove those left-over metal fences.
Please take action on this as the bridge works finished more than 3 months ago and it is not justifiable that we still don't have proper street lights in the area.
Many thanks.

Hi council,
Please provide an update on this.
Two of the street line poles are currently without lanterns and do not work. BAM has clearly stated that this is the councils responsibility! Furthermore, the zebra crossing lights are not working either.
Please tell us by when will our street lights be re-instated and the metal fences left by BAM removed?
Please sort this out ASAP as its not safe to not have proper street lights around the agar grove bridge area!

Street lights on the agar Grove bridge are still not working, despite the fact that the works were completed nearly 4 months ago. Zebra crossing lights outside of Nisa store not working either. This is hazardous and the council does not take action despite many messages highlighting this potential hazard. Please take action and fix our street lights.
