On Greenhill, next to adjacent property - No. 1 Vane Close NW3 5UN
Reported via desktop in the Low/overhanging branches category anonymously at 12:13, Fri 29 August 2025
Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8090948.
Broken tree branch after recent gusty winds. Fallen onto public pavement.
This horsechestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) has been suffering from a fungal infection (horsechestnut leaf blotch) for several years and has been losing its leaves earlier and earlier each year, time time from early August.
It is a very special tree, providing useful shade and air pollution reduction to the neighbouring property. However, please consider raising the crown by removing the lower weaker branches like the one that has recently broken, especially the ones overhanging over the property boundary of No.1 Vane Close (the property with the historical plaque of Sir Harry Vane). It has been some years since you last treated this tree with removal of overhanging branches.
Thank you.
