Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8076099.
I first emailed you about this overgrown tree over a year ago, asking the council to prune it. I received a written assurance that it would be pollarded last year (2024) in Autumn after the leaves dropped. This did not happen and the problem is now of course worse. There are low hanging branches obstructing parking, making getting in and out of vehicles difficult. One scratched my young son as he left the car, causing injury and bleeding. It's lucky it didn't go in his eye. I have seen people take matters into their own hands by snapping small branches off, but this really isn't good enough, particularly given the high level of council tax we are paying you. I am also paying services charges as you are the leaseholder. Additionally, due to continued inaction, as much as 75% or more of the light is being blocked from my living room. I have waited patiently for a year as I know the council is busy and balancing competing priorities, but I really need you to take action now to keep Camden residents safe and protect our physical and mental health. I suffer Seasonal Affective Disorder and my flat is on the ground floor. It is very difficult sitting in the dark in my only room except the bedroom, particularly in the winter. If you continue to be too busy, I would be happy to withold my Council Tax and service charge for a couple of months and then pay a tree surgeon to attend to the matter myself? Please let me know if you would like me to proceed in this way. I will wait a further two weeks to hear from you and if you don't reply, or confirm a firm time frame for when you will address this problem, I will assume you agree with my proposed plan to withold payments for council services (such as maintaining the highway in residential areas safely). I will then pay to sort this out myself. Thank you for your consideration of this complaint. I really hope someone can now help. Laura Orger - 20A Dartmouth Park Avenue.

Thank you for your enquiry.
I apologise this has not been actioned. I can see from our records that we scheduled for the epicormic removal and pollarding to be done last autumn/winter 2024. I do not know why this was not done and I have chased the tree contractor for a response on this and will get back to you.
I have requested the tree outside 20 Dartmouth Park Avenue to have the epicormic removed urgently. The intention is for this to be actioned this week. I have also requested the outstanding pollarding to done last September 2025 when the season permits. This is the earliest time we can do it.
Please contact me on [email protected] if either of these works are not completed within the timeframe I mention and I will follow up.
