Out side Marmara supermarket and family defense law

I am writing to raise an urgent safety concern regarding the condition of the paving slabs located in front of 5 Malden Road (the solicitors) and 7 Malden Road (Marmara Supermarket), NW5 3HS

This section of pavement has become increasingly hazardous due to uneven, cracked, and slippery slabs — particularly the red paving slabs laid along the sloped area. Over the years, I have personally witnessed several people slip and fall, including myself. The risk becomes especially high during wet weather, when the surface turns extremely slippery and unsafe.

This presents a serious danger to public safety, particularly for elderly residents, disabled individuals, and parents with prams. Access to the nearby cash machine is also affected, as many people feel unsafe walking over this area.

As the owner of Marmara Supermarket at 7 Malden Road, I have seen how this issue is discouraging customers from approaching the area. Many members of the local community have told me they avoid walking on that section of pavement out of fear of slipping, which has had a noticeable negative impact on my business.

I strongly believe that the best long-term solution would be to completely remove the current paving slabs and eliminate or reduce the slope altogether — even slightly doing so would greatly improve safety. A level, non-slip surface would resolve the core of the problem and ensure the pavement is accessible for everyone year-round.

I have attached photos to this email to clearly show the condition of the pavement. I urge Camden Council to treat this matter with urgency and arrange for a thorough inspection and necessary remedial works.
