Dangerous Junction - Agar Grove & Murray Street
Reported via desktop in the Transport Planning Referrals category anonymously at 13:44, Fri 11 July 2025
Sent to Camden Borough Council 14 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7862697.
The new junction at Agar Grove and Murray Street is very dangerous for pedestrians & cyclists. Many cars that are turning from Agar Grove can’t tell the difference between the two different entry points (one is a road turning and the other is a cycle lane/pedestrian crosswalk). There seem to be several confusing factors at play: The cycle lane/crosswalk are much larger than the car turning lane, the cycle lane is paved in black tarmac like Agar Grove, so it looks like the road turning, there are no add’l bollards within the cycle lane/crosswalk that could prevent cars from entering into this space, and finally there are no add’l road markings that may indicate its purpose (eg blue painted blue cycle lane, operational Belisha beacons). So far, this is an incredibly confusing and dangerous new junction. I've upload two photos from today (two separate incidents within a span of minutes).

You people are idiots. This is so unsafe. On a 5 minute period today, 5 vans, 1 lorry and 4 cars used that same junction to go onto St Augustine's Road. It is madness to keep it open while pedestrians and cyclists might get hurt. On top of that, there are steps leading down from the junction to the shop which is dangerous for anyone who is vision impaired or elderly/ infirm. Utter stupidity from whoever designed this deathtrap
