Outside 42 South Hill Park

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 18:10, Sat 24 May 2025

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7614060.

Settlement of paving stones and open small gaps between paving stones following Thames Water work has led to a pedestrian falling into the road and, separately, for rainwater to enter a previously dry and tanked private property cellar directly under the pavement. The leak occurs only during rainfall through the cracks and small gaps in the paving stones. This was confirmed by Thames Water inspection (who ruled out leaks on supply) and who recommended that a membrane would prevent further leakage and damage but they have consistently refused to take action for several months. As there are footpath repairs being undertaken in the street during June, the problem could be resolved at the same time outside 42 South Hill Park while footpath works are taking place lower down the South Hill Park.
