After roundabout

Reported via mobile in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 23:25, Tuesday 6 May 2025

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7531655.

We recently moved into a home to Belsize Road, just after the roundabout and after just two weeks, we’ve already witnessed several concerning incidents involving vehicles — particularly motorbikes — traveling at dangerously high speeds, often upwards of 50 mph.

This is especially worrying given the number of pedestrians crossing the road, often from behind parked buses or at bus stops. Additionally, the new health centre nearby serves both elderly and young patients, many of whom are regularly crossing the street.

The current soft speed bumps seem to have little to no effect in slowing down traffic, which is alarming for a residential area.

Just last night, a bus broke down and remained immobile for some time, causing significant disruption. The situation was made worse by drivers who are clearly accustomed to speeding on this stretch of road, showing little caution despite the obstruction.

We hope this issue can be looked into as a matter of urgency before a serious accident occurs.
