Outside Shaftesbury Theatre

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 17:32, Tuesday 6 May 2025

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7530492.

The pavement outside the Shaftesbury Theatre on Princes Circus has been poorly laid by the Council, meaning that when it rains, water collects and doesn't drain. This means that static water sits on joins in the pavement, where it then leaks into the basement below the pavement, causing internal damage. I can provide photos - but was not able to upload to this site.

This request was closed by the Council - saying not the Council's responsibility. Please can you explain why an issue caused by the poor workmanship by the council in the relaying of the pavement - which then causes issues not there before is not the responsibility of the council? You have my contact details - please don't keep just closing this with not our responsibility, but please explain why poor work by the council, which causes damage is not your responsibility. Or who I need to contact at the council to address this - if this is not you.
