Road surface at Traffic lights on Adelaide Rd. outside Taplow Tower opp. rear of Marriott Hotel. And temporary traffic lights (2.5 mins), red light too long engine idling. Green light is 26 seconds only, too short for the long queue of vehicles to get through causing frustration, horn blowing, loud music from drivers which local residents have to endure yet, again.

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7512491.

1) Due Clancy contractors 4-way Traffic light system, (despite asking them to reduce the waiting time at red light from 2.5 mins and green light time for traffic to pass being 26 secs when finally allowed to move on green light), vehicles, HVCs, buses race to beat the 26 sec green light before it goes red again. This means that they race across the road from UCL side toward the Taplow Tower side on the Adelaide Rd causing the road surface at the Traffic lights to be fractured, braking up into pieces. 2) Clancy have been asked to reduce the red light waiting 'stop' time at the lights and to lengthen the green 'go' time. But they have not. It means that drivers at the back of the traffic queue are playing loud music, blaring their horns, then, rev up their engines to get through the light, but are held again, due to the 26 sec. green 'go' light. These drivers are 'driving' the local residents mad with their loud music 24 hrs a day, never mind the increased pollution due to their engine idling. The last contractors left after weeks of road works noise and creating air pollution due to engine idling in Dec 2024, now residents have to endure it all over again. Camden need to look at the damage that racing vehicles are creating at the traffic lights outside Taplow Tower.
