This faulty manhole, located just outside our university accommodation rooms, has severely affected our sleep and relaxation time in the hall.

The manhole cover makes a loud metal clanking noise every time a vehicle drives over it, which happens frequently due to the busy nature of the road. It's even worse when heavy vehicles like trucks or buses pass, causing the manhole to rock.

The constant noise, particularly at night, is extremely disruptive and affects our sleep.

  • Virgin Media have been identified as the owner of the noisy / defective apparatus and are responsible for its maintenance. It has been reported to Virgin Media and they have been asked to expediate all necessary remedial works.
