First claim No.: 6005613 Hi Gordon,
I’m reaching out with a complaint regarding the ongoing situation on Holmes Road. Last week, Thames Water finally completed the diversion of their pipes and covered the hole on Friday, November 8th. We were hoping that Cadent Gas would proceed with their work to redirect their lines as well.
However, to our disappointment, tonight a team from Ferns, assigned by Thames Water, simply covered the hole without creating the necessary gutter/gully— the primary purpose of all this work, which has disrupted our community since May 2024. When I spoke with the team lead, he explained, “We thought it was a water leak, so we just redid the street; I’ll speak to my manager.”
As it stands, Cadent Gas will now need to re-dig, complete their diversion, and then we will need the council team to return to install the gutter/gully before the road is finally finished. Without this, we risk ending up with the same large puddling issue after every rain, which inconveniences everyone using Holmes Road.
This situation seems like a significant waste of energy and tax resources, and I’m sure you understand the community’s frustration. Please find attached photos taken at 5:30pm tonight for your reference.
I would appreciate it if you or someone from your team could follow up on this matter and coordinate to prevent further delays.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
