27 Parkway

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 18:25, Wed 18 September 2024

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6487263.

Hopefully Camden Council won't close this one down immediately, as they did yesterday. Parkway has been reduced to single file traffic for months due to temporary traffic lights. The road and pavement works that are the cause of this were abandoned unfinished weeks ago. Traffic is horrible, and the torn up pavement is inaccessible and a safety risk.

Updates

  • Miles of traffic in all directions. Only time for five cars to go through from parkway. Hundreds queuing. Please fix timing of the lights urgently.

  • There was a brief respite when the initial works ended. However, Parkway is again down to one lane with malfunctioning traffic lights. This chaos is expected to last until mid November. To make matters worse, the closure of Marylebone Road eastbound means that buses and other traffic is also going down traffic-clogged, one lane Parkway. If anyone from the council cares to get away from your desks and observe, you will see the mess.

  • Look, please do something about this. The temporary traffic lights are worsening matters.

  • Thank you for your email. These works have been completed and were to facilitate the glass around the public toilets on Camden High Street. The works were unfortunately delayed due there being water ingress which had to be rectified first.

State changed to: No further action
