Updates

  • Cadent Gas have been identified as the owner of the two damaged valve boxes and are responsible for their maintenance. It has been reported to Cadent Gas and they have been asked to expediate all necessary remedial works.
The manhole cover is a coal hole and the responsibility of the property owner to repair. The Council do not have to provide a waterproof surface to the public highway and does not accept responsibility for any water ingress into the sub-structure of any property. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the vault is adequately waterproofed, and that the structural integrity is maintained at all times in order that the structure can support the public highway.
If you would like to employ the Highways Team to carry out any works for you, you can call the main contact number and ask for Larry Hilsden.
