Outside 236 Belsize Road

Reported via mobile in the Potholes category anonymously at 17:21, Tuesday 21 May 2024

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6003235.

Some repairs have been carried out in front of the 238 and 240 Belsize Road. However, there is still a big step at the 236 Belsize Road, which makes the surrounding buildings shake badly. We have been told that this area would have been repaired in a few days but no one came back to finish the job and the issue has been marked as fixed when it is not. Can we please get the team over to fix this ongoing matter? We refer to the report number 5477011 started about a year ago.

  • A team seems to have addressed only 2 of the 3 potholes at this location and unfortunately leaving the most troublesome one in disrepair.

Aside from the surrounding buildings still shaking when buses or HGVs hit the hole at speed, water pools up in the pothole when it rains creating a lovely ever filling puddle for cars to splash muddy water all over the front of my property as you can see from the attached photos.

Structural damage on the balcony of the property at 209 Belsize Road seems to have been exacerbated by the shaking caused from the constant impact from large vehicles on the pothole, as well as the fascia of the property at 236 Belsize Road in which cracks have started to appear - both of which will now need costly repairs.

This is desperately neglectful and unprofessional from the Council to leave this problem disregarded for such a long time and it is now visibly causing damage to surrounding properties.

Please see to this with the utmost urgency.
