Adelaide road - previous notification 5809771

Reported via desktop in the Road Defect category anonymously at 16:43, Wednesday 8 May 2024

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5947507.

Whilst Adelaide Road has 20MPH signage along its entire length this is ignored by many motorists and motorcyclists who regularly hurtle in both directions at speeds exceeding 60MPH. Can Camden please install speed cameras along this busy stretch for the safety of pedestrians and other motorists and to reduce noise and pollution.

  • I have recently almost had a bad crash attempting to pull out the junction of lower Merton rise and Adelaide Road. As normal to my left a large white deliver truck was parked obscuring my view an I had to edge out very slowly. However a speeding motorist travelling well in excess of the speed limit was travelling down the road. I immediately pulled hard left and bashed intro the curb but very narrowly missed the car coming towards me. The speeds of traffic on Adelaide Road and illegal parking are out of control and a massive danger to residents. Please stall speed restrictions and monitoring.
