Adelaide road between lower Merton Road and Elsworthy Rise
Reported via mobile in the Road Defect category anonymously at 07:15, Fri 5 April 2024
Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5809771.
The traffic along Adelaide Road has become unacceptable, it is very noisy with many heavy lorries and most traffic, especially motorcycles does not ahead to the 20 MPH restriction zone. Please can this stretch of Adelaide Road or indeed all of Adelaide road become more healthy for residents, many people including myself have children and gardens backing onto Adelaide Road. Please can you consider a monitoring system for air pollution, noise pollution and speed checks by installing speed cameras. Is there a possibility of restricting when large vehicles have access along Adelaide Road? Many thanks for considering these very important health issues. Kind regards, Sarah and Steve Collis.

Like any stretch of straight road Longer than 50 meters, the stretch of road acts like a drag race circuit for supercars. I have learnt to distinguish even specific car makes / engines as they accelerate from zero to 60 from the traffic lights. Even dummy cameras would probably work and they would have minimal cost - except for the amounts paid to the contractor installing them.
