At entrance to 129 West End Rd

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 16:23, Monday 15 January 2024

Sent to Camden Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5446852.

Water continuously spilling onto pavement here. It is not a heavy flow but it freezes over and forms a large area of ice impossible to avoid. It is not salted or gritted. This morning I assisted an old lady who slipped and fell, she insisted she was ok but I also almost slipped here last week so it's been at least a week like this. There is a serious accident waiting to happen if one hasn't happened already.

Updates

  • I came home this evening, walking briskly with snow boots on, but outside this house is a big section of ice, and it is now in the road where traffic drives through, I had no choice but to carefully walk over it, but it did no good, and I swiftly fell, thud onto the pavement. It was very painful, and I have bruises and swelling, and a graze. If that had been a frail person, they could probably die from a fall like that. This is urgent and needs de-icing and a WARNING post either side of the leak. The cold weather is making it worse.
