Due to daily pigeon feeding in the area, pigeons are now regularly sitting on this road sign and defecating on it. Is it possible to install pigeon spikes on the arm to discourage pigeons from gathering?

Sorry, I couldn't find an appropriate category for this issue, so may have chosen the wrong option.
