May I urge you to do something about the ongoing problem of the many bins cluttering the pavement in Howitt Road. The collection day for Howitt Road, NW3 is Wednesday. Just to give you an example: today on Saturday evening, I recorded the following bins on the pavement in Howitt Road.
On the western side with the even house numbers, I noticed 13 bins on the pavement: In front of No 50 5 green bins and 2 black bins In front of No 46 2 bins In front of No 34/32 1 Black bin In front of No 14 1 black bin and 2 green bins
On the eastern side with the uneven house numbers, I saw10 bins on the pavement: In front of No 5 2 black bins In front of No 7 3 bins In front of No 27 1 green bin In front of No 29 1 green bin In front of No 31 2 black bins In front of No 45 1 green and 1 black bin.
I understand that people are meant to put their bins back on their property within 24 hours of the collection and I’m aware that you have the power to issue written warnings and ultimately fixed penalty notices under section 48a of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
The problem of bins cluttering the pavement in Howitt Road has been going on for many months and I would be most grateful if you could do something about it.
