RE Chester Road street works Ref No. CM-L-LIVE-0005660
Your team is currently working on a kerb and pavement raising on the lower 33 metres of the southern end of Chester road toward the corner of Swains Lane.
For at least the last three months we have been considerably disturbed by the constant clanking of a water drain calvert that is about two feet from the kerb. It's positioned in such a way to be driven over by both wheels of every passing vehicle. The sound is not unlike a cattle grid clanking due to the two halves of the metal calvert cover banging against each other and the frame.
We are constantly aware of this intrusive noise which is a perpetual disturbance which also prevents us from sleeping.
We hoped your operatives working around this calvert were going to remedy this as part of their work, but according to them it was just to raise the curb.
We would be very grateful if you could include changing the calvert or permanently removing it altogether. It is made redundant by the secondary calvert beside it, which is next to the kerb where it does not encounter the wheels of passing traffic.
